My career led me through many industries and technologies

My field of expertise lies in DevOps/Kubernetes/Containerization and Backend/Integration Development based on Java & Apache Camel, typically using Cloud Platforms like Microsoft Azure. I pursue many ‘Side Project Hobbies’ like iOS Development, Typescript/Angular projects, or System Engineering based on Linux/Fedora. Any software solution without a REST-based API is incomplete to me. I run GNU/Linux and i3wm. I like to automate everything.

I started as a software developer in a small swiss IT business. We developed solutions based on our in-house Java Framework and various client technologies (Web-Based/Angular & Native/.NET) for government entities and e-commerce. As the popularity of smartphones grew, we also developed iOS Apps for the swiss market.

I completed my apprenticeship in IT/Software Development (EFZ) in 2008. I left the bachelor’s degree course at ZHAW (fka HSZT) in 2010 without graduation.

Side projects

c14r.io (Container-Browser) is a tool that helps developers understand how container images are composed of. It features an interactive UI with a graph, visualizing the dependencies between container images. Both Microsoft Container Registry (MCR) and Docker Hub are supported. The project is open-source and available on GitHub. It was entirely built as a hobby/pet project. Clean Code best practices & Microservice Architecture are followed.

Technologies: Spring Boot / Java, Apache Camel, Angular, Github Actions / Azure DevOps / SonarCloud, Docker, Ansible.
